Best SEO books 2023
Read these SEO books to help you get started.
If you're on the hunt to learn more about search engine optimization (SEO), and improve your SEO skills, there are a ton of books out there that can help you. Here are 5 of my favorite SEO books that you should read in 2023 to help you get started.
These books are not listed in any particular order, and they aren't the end-all-be-all. In fact, these are only five SEO books that I recommended.
"SEO 2022" by Adam Clarke
This book is a comprehensive guide to SEO, covering everything from the basics of how search engines work to advanced tactics for improving your site's visibility in search results. It's a great resource for beginners as well as experienced SEO professionals looking to stay up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices.
The version I read was for "2018," but each year, Adam Clarke updates the book to add more current features and the latest Google updates.
This SEO book provides many SEO strategies you should use and recommended tools and resources. For example, he'll list a helpful resource you should consider using and then link to it, making it easy to find.
"SEO blueprint" by Ryan Stewart and David Krevitt
I love this book and still do!
As the title suggests, "SEO Blueprint" is the perfect starting point for anyone new to the world of search engine optimization. This book provides a clear and concise overview of the basics, including how search engines work and how to conduct keyword research. It also includes practical tips for improving your site's ranking, as well as a glossary of important terms and concepts.
I found myself bookmarking a ton of pages and highlighting plenty of paragraphs. The details and step-by-step instructions listed in this book are some of the best I've seen so far. "SEO Blueprint" also provides a ton of screenshots (for visual learners like me) which is incredibly helpful for nailing down exactly what you need to do.
If I had to choose one book for an SEO beginner, "SEO Blueprint" would be the one I'd recommend.
"How to get to the top of Google" by Tim Cameron-Kitchen
This book is great for teaching you how to get on the first page of Google, hence the title of the book.
LOL.
This book explains the small tactics and details that many people might overlook and can lead to huge search engine optimization ranking gains.
Some of the key features explain how to structure your website content, the importance of mobile-friendliness, good content, sitemaps, metadata, on-page SEO, and much more.
"Ultimate Guide to Google AdWords" by Perry Marshall
This book is one of the most recommended books when it comes to Google Ads. Think of this book as an extremely comprehensive and detailed textbook that provides you with the best step-by-step instruction on how to properly create a high-performing Google Ad.
One reason I loved this book so much was that it helped me understand the difference between each Google Ad type. For example, structuring your keywords with quotation marks or brackets can make a huge difference in the way your ad performs and even how much money you'll end up spending.
"3 Months to No. 1" by Will Coombe
This SEO book was another book that was highly bookmarked and highlighted. It's another highly recommended book for SEO professionals just starting out or those who want to learn how to increase their online presence.
"3 Months to No. 1" covers everything from technical SEO, on-page SEO, and website optimization. One thing it also covers (which the other books do as well) is explaining how backlinks work. Getting backlinks is one of the many ways to improve your search engine optimization, and this book explains backlinks in a good, beginner-type way.
